Partner Organizations
Catalyst | Rice University
Catalyst is an undergraduate, peer-edited, faculty-reviewed
publication dedicated to fostering discussion of the sciences at Rice University.
We strive to provide an avenue for students passionate about science to
present their own research or express their views on scientific topics.
Catalyst is built upon the resolution to showcase student research and
views about science, both of which are pivotal to fostering dialogue
about science and engineering and to enhancing undergraduate research experience.
We provide an avenue for students to share their thoughts and ideas
about scientific innovations in the form of articles that are published
annually and will be accepting guest submissions in August for the issue released in 2012.
Beyond the publication,
Catalyst has also hosted events, such as TEDx Talks
in 2010, that spur scientific innovation. We seek to expand beyond
Rice University to involve as many passionate undergraduate students as possible. Please
see our website at
catalyst.rice.edu for more information.
Journal of Young Investigators
Submit to the Journal of Young Investigators, an independent, non-profit,
peer-reviewed, online science journal, managed entirely by and for
undergraduates. Since its founding in 1997, JYI has supported undergraduate
participation in the research process, with the support of the National Science
Foundation, the Burroughs Wellcome Fund, and others. All undergraduates are
invited to submit original research articles to JYI, as well as to apply to
join our highly trained and faculty-supervised staff. Experience an integral
part of research, engage in scientific communication, and disseminate your work.
For all young investigators, JYI is an excellent opportunity to engage the
scholarly writing, editing, and peer-review processes. For more information,
